Houndmouth are a cheerful bunch, and on their new track "On the Road," the folksy Indiana garage rockers offer up a sunny melody that ambles along with bright piano rhythms and a swaying guitar lick. But there's a slight sadness that tethers the high spirits as the band sings that they're hitting the road as an escape. "I'm going down where nobody knows me," they sing, relating stories of a lost job and failing relationships. However, the tune is triumphant; despite the tinges of self-doubt, Houndmouth know that life rambles on.

"On the Road" is from Houndmouth's debut album, From the Hills Below the City, out June 4th on Rough Trade.
