YG unveiled a powerful new single “One Time Comin'” dissecting police brutality and dedicating the song to its victims.

The eerily sparse track finds the Compton rapper spitting over bouncing percussion and a single synth line that wails like a siren. While YG scatters his verses with some defiant boasts and calls out trigger happy police officers (“Pop you a nigga, then you laugh, huh?/ Think our life don’t matter?”), he also delves into the tragic everyday anxieties that many black men and women face when they encounter law enforcement: “One time comin’, gotta run from ’em/ ‘Cause they might pull a gun on ’em/ Told my daughter ‘Daddy love you’ when I left the crib.”

“One Time Comin'” marks YG’s first new single since the release of his second LP, Still Brazy in June. The record features the rapper’s protest anthem, “Fuck Donald Trump,” and in an interview with Rolling Stone, YG spoke about taking a more direct approach to political rap.

“It is what it is,” he said. “It ain’t no hidden messages when we rapping. If it’s a message, you gon’ know what the fuck we talkin’ ’bout. We gon’ talk about it straight like that. With that record, I told [Nipsey Hussle], ‘Like, bro, we gotta make a song called “Fuck Donald Trump” ’cause bro, that’s how we really feel.’ So I did the hook exactly like that.”

YG will resume his Fuck Donald Trump tour November 10th in Des Moines, Iowa. The trek features Kamaiyah, Sad Boy and RJ and stretches into early December.
