Hear Wiz Khalifa Sample ‘Stranger Things’ Theme on New Song

This weekend, Wiz Khalifa became the latest artist to join the Stranger Things appreciation club. The rapper released his latest song (titled “Stranger Things”), which turns the show’s eerie synth-driven theme song into hip-hip beat. Rapper J.R. Donato guests on the song, and the two are depicted on the song’s cover art as Stranger kids riding bicycles in the woods.
“It’s like I’m talking to a stranger/ Now everybody getting stranger,” Khalifa sings. “They’re stranger/ I think I’m in danger, gotta wake my game up/ Gotta stay the same, watching everybody change/ Ah now they’re getting stranger.” Produced by E. Dan, Big Jerm and Sayez, the song borrows the creepy Eighties vibes created by the song’s original writers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of electronic group Survive.
Khalifa just wrapped his High Road tour with Snoop Dogg. His new song follows another Stranger tribute by German electronic pioneers Tangerine Dream, who unveiled a spooky cover version of the same theme song last week.
