The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, has unveiled the title track to his forthcoming album, Starboy. The release of the song “Starboy” comes on the heels of the R&B singer announcing the new album and its preorder along with sharing its cover, which he revealed late Wednesday. The tune is a collaboration with Daft Punk.
On the smooth, rhythmically percolating tune, which highlights Daft Punk’s influence on the soundscape, Tesfaye croons, “Look what you’ve done/ I’m a motherfucking starboy.” Layers of “ah ah” vocal refrains punctuate the chorus, as echoing vocals pepper the track.
The iTunes preorder reveals the album will have 18 tracks. While most of the songs are only listed with track numbers, the listing reveals that the third tune is called “False Alarm.”
The follow-up to 2015’s Beauty Behind the Madness, the Weeknd’s third studio album Starboy will be released on November 25th via Republic Records.
