Hear Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ Become an Ode to Your Busted Bracket
Building the perfect NCAA Tournament bracket is hard.
Within the first five hours of March Madness starting on Thursday, 94 percent of the brackets on Yahoo Sports were donezo. Three later, a staggering 99.9 percent of the brackets worldwide were busted. It wasn’t much better on ESPN or CBS Sports, either, with both sites having less than 1 percent of their brackets still intact.
Then there’s Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, who went a perfect 16-for-16 on Day 1 of the Dance. Sometimes life just isn’t fair.
Anyway, after a day of upsets, you’re probably in need of something to help fill the void in your soul – and thankfully, one intrepid YouTuber is here to help, creating a perfect parody of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” that’s rife with references to this year’s tourney. Sure, the dude can’t sing to save his life, but you can’t correctly pick a 12/5 matchup (Chattanooga over Indiana?!? Really?!?), and that hasn’t stopped you from filling out a bracket every year – so back off and enjoy the song. There’s a good chance you can relate to it’s message: Namely, why the hell did I bother even doing a bracket this year?
“Much like Swifty’s ex-boyfriends, we’ve decided the highs of filling out brackets aren’t worth the pain they put us through,” SportsChannel8 wrote. “This year we’re just watching games with a Blank Bracket.”
Respect dude, and major props for calling out Gary in accounting for winning every year. It’s getting ridiculous.
