Hear Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande’s Upbeat Duet on New Song ‘Faith’
Stevie Wonder sings with Ariana Grande on his joyous new single, “Faith,” recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film Sing. The two singers unleash vocal acrobatics on the soulful, strutting track, backed by a bluesy bass riff and frenetic drum fills. “I got faith in you, baby,” they belt. “I get around you and my mind goes crazy.”
Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, two of pop’s biggest producers, wrote the song for the film that features the voices of Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon. The soundtrack, which is released the same day as the film on December 21st, also features several cover songs: Tori Kelly performing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing,” and Jennifer Hudson covering the Beatles’ “Golden Slumbers.”
In recent months, the bulk of Wonder’s major musical projects have had a socio-political nature. Wonder contributed the chorus to Common’s politically charged single “Black America Again,” featured on the rapper’s new album of the same name. The singer-songwriter also surprised Hillary Clinton with a rendition of his Hotter Than July track “Happy Birthday” during the Democratic presidential nominee’s appearance on The Breakfast Club.
