Hear Sia, Miguel, Queen Latifah Tackle ‘Hamilton’ Highlight ‘Satisfied’

Sia, Miguel and Queen Latifah teamed for a striking, bombastic synth pop rendition of Hamilton highlight “Satisfied,” set to appear on the upcoming mixtape for the smash Broadway musical.
In the musical, “Satisfied” is a clever retelling of the romance between Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler, which is detailed in the previous song “Helpless,” but now told from the perspective of Eliza’s sister Angelica. The original soundtrack boasts a stunning rapid-fire performance from Renée Elise Goldsberry, which both Sia and Queen Latifah dutifully recreate on their version. Miguel croons Hamilton’s verses as a sultry substitute for star Lin-Manuel Miranda.
K’naan, Snow tha Product, Riz MC and Residente also remixed Hamilton’s famous line “Immigrants: we get the job done” for a track of the same name. The group uses the original delivery of the line by Hamilton and Lafayette from the track “Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down)” for the chorus. Lyrically, each verse describes the hopeful, but harsh reality for modern-day immigrants who work multiple jobs for little pay and must survive in squalid living conditions.
Along with Sia, Miguel and Queen Latifah, The Hamilton Mixtape features an array of artists including Nas, Usher, Aloe Blacc, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds, the Roots, Alicia Keys, Jimmy Fallon, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Wiz Khalifa, John Legend and Chance the Rapper, while Miranda appears throughout the tape as well. Two other tracks were shared prior to “Satisfied”: Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of “It’s Quiet Uptown” and Busta Rhymes, Joel Ortiz and Nate Ruess’ remix of “My Shot.”
The Hamilton Mixtape arrives December 2nd.
