Hear Royce 5’9,” Pusha T and Rick Ross Team on ‘Layers’

Veteran rapper and Eminem accomplice Royce 5’9″ has unveiled the title track from his upcoming LP Layers, with the Detroit MC joining forces with Pusha T and Rick Ross.

Over a soulful, haunting Mr. Porter-produced beat, each rapper adds their own unique layer to the track: Pusha T delivers a self-reflective verse (“Burner on my waist, but I’m yelling stop the violence”), Royce prophesizes and philosophizes about everything from the Unabomber to the Illuminati to being courted by three major labels and Ross closes out the track with his trademark bank account boasting. “I own 50 homes and want to get 50 more / Counting this fast money and fucking my bitches slow,” Rozay raps.

Layers, Royce’s first solo LP since 2011’s Success Is Certain – he joined up with DJ Premier in 2014 for PRhyme – is due out April 15th. Fans who preorder the rapper’s new LP will receive an instant download of “Layers.”
