Hear Ozzy Osbourne’s New “Life Won’t Wait” Now

Preview the hard-charging track off June 22nd’s ‘Scream’

Ozzy Osbourne will let out his Scream on June 22nd, but Rolling Stone has an exclusive first listen to “Life Won’t Wait,” one of the new tracks off Ozzy’s latest set, right now. The uplifting rocker starts off like previous Ozzy anthem “Changes” before it explodes into a swirl of guitar riffs topped by Osbourne’s booming and undiminished trademark siren in the powerful chorus. “Every second you throw away, every second of every day, don’t get caught in a myriad, because life won’t wait for you,” Ozzy sings, urging listeners to not simply watch life pass by. “Every day that you wait, you’re falling faster, no sleight of hand, no twist of fate, no ever after. When it’s gone, it’s gone, a fight to the bitter end.” “Life Won’t Wait” also boasts a blistering solo from Gus G, who’s stepping in to replace Osbourne’s longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde. Listen here:

As Rolling Stone previously reported, Ozzy fanatics will have a chance to hear and rock out to three Scream tracks — “Let Me Hear You Scream” (watch a preview of the video here), “Soul Sucker” and “Diggin’ Me Down” — starting tomorrow, June 15th thanks to an Osbourne download pack for Rock Band . The Prince of Darkness’ “No More Tears,” “Crazy Babies” and Black Rain‘s “I Don’t Wanna Stop” will also be featured on the Osbourne pack.

Ozzy and his band will embark on a massive tour in support of Scream this summer, highlighted by six Ozzfest dates that’ll find Osboure joined by Mötley Crüe and Judas Priest’s Rob Halford. The Blizzard of Ozz recently blew into the Rolling Stone offices for an exclusive video interview where he discussed digging into his dark musical vault and unearthing some old favorites for his latest trek. “I have such a body of work to pick from now I want to try some different songs other than ‘Iron Man’ and ‘War Pigs,’ ” Ozzy said. “I’ll always have to do ‘Paranoid’ because that’s my anthem. I wouldn’t mind doing ‘Fairies Wear Boots’ or something different just to see how it goes.” Ozzy also left open the possibility of rejoining his former Rock Hall bandmates in Black Sabbath, telling RS, “I never say never.”
