Hear Oasis’ Live ‘My Big Mouth’ From ‘Be Here Now’ Reissue

Oasis will reissue their 1997 LP Be Here Now this October as a 3CD set that features the original album alongside B-sides, “the Mustique demos” and live cuts from the era. One of those live performances is a raging rendition of “My Big Mouth” from the band’s legendary Knebworth concerts in 1996.
“New song. My Big Mouth,” Liam Gallagher tells the Knebworth crowd before the performance, just the fourth time the song was played live. The Knebworth concerts feature “My Big Mouth” in a quasi-embryonic state: Two months after those August 1996 shows, the Gallagher brothers and company would enter the studio to begin work on Be Here Now.
Fans who preorder the Be Here Now – Chasing the Sun reissue before its October 7th release will receive an instant download of the Knebworth “My Big Mouth” as well as Noel Gallagher’s 2016 “rethink” of the album’s opener and standout single “D’You Know What I Mean?”
“As the years went by I’d started to accept that the songs on Be Here Now were in fact insanely long … too long! Someone (I can’t remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity’s sake,” Gallagher said of the “rethink.” “We got as far as the first track before we couldn’t be arsed anymore and gave up … it does sound fucking mega though.”
The reissue also includes unreleased tracks like an acoustic cover of the Chemical Brothers’ Noel-featuring “Setting Sun,” an unreleased version of “Stand By Me” recorded at guitarist Paul Benjamin “Bonehead” Arthurs’ home studio and a CD filled with the long-lost “Mustique demos,” 14 tracks recorded by Noel Gallagher and producer Owen Morris on the Caribbean island in 1996.
