Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recited the heartwarming holiday tale The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas during Joe Whiley’s BBC Radio 2 show. The 2012 children’s book, co-written by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter from pop-punk band McFly, follows a “greedy young chap named Danny” and a dinosaur who eats and excretes the boy’s entire house and family.

Ulrich fights back laughter as he reads the tale, which opens with Santa plotting revenge against Danny with an “unpleasant” present: a “gimongous” dinosaur egg under the Christmas tree. After Danny opens the gift, the baby dino starts to “eat everything” including Danny’s parents, pets, house and even Santa and his reindeers.

Ulrich ends the reading with holiday greeting from Metallica, who released their epic-length 10th LP, Hardwired…to Self-Destruct, in November.
