Hear Mac Miller’s Creepy, Soulful Billy Joel Cover

While other artists are jovially releasing holiday tunes to round out the year, Mac Miller has posted a creepy, yet soulful, Soundcloud cover of Billy Joel’s 1977 ballad “Vienna” under his Larry Fisherman alias, Noisey reports.
Over woozy piano chords, the rapper sings in a pitch-shifted rumble, “Where’s the fire, what’s the hurry about? / You’d better cool it off before you burn it out.”
Miller previously released the 2013 instrumental mixtape Run-On Sentences Vol. 1 under his Fisherman production pseudonym alongside a mixtape under the name Delusional Thomas. The year before, he released a set of lounge-jazz tracks as Larry Lovestein and the Velvet Revival.
His last release as Mac Miller, GO:OD A.M., came out in October. Last week, after spending three months on tour, the rapper postponed four upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand, citing exhaustion. “I haven’t cancelled anything in 5 years, but I found out I was human. Fuck,” he tweeted. “I thought I was a super hero … I’m not giving up on that theory.”
