Hear Mac DeMarco’s Sunny ‘The Way You’d Love Her’

Canadian indie rocker shares catchy opening cut off upcoming ‘Another One’ mini-album

Mac DeMarco will release his new mini-album Another One on August 7th, and on Monday, the indie oddball shared “The Way You’d Love Her,” the first track off that eight-track EP. DeMarco picks up where he left off on his breakout album Salad Days with this sunny, lo-fi love song, which melds the pop sensibilities of Harry Nilsson with the playfulness of Ween as interpreted through the Canadian rocker’s stoner vibe.

Like the rest of Another One, DeMarco self-recorded the track at his home studio in Far Rockaway, Queens after touring in support of Salad Daysone of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Albums of 2014. DeMarco plays all the instruments on his upcoming mini-album, as evidenced by this amusing Making Of video that he shared with fans.

DeMarco recently embarked on a long summer trek that’ll keep the Canadian rocker on the road until late September. After touring the States earlier this month, DeMarco hopped a plane across the Atlantic for a string of European music festival dates plus a June 2nd gig in Tel Aviv, Israel. After a quick U.S. tour in August, DeMarco will again set out to Europe in September.

Another One is available now to pre order via Captured Tracks. Fans who buy the mini-album early will also receive an all-instrumental version of the collection.
