Rihanna‘s violent, bloody, nudity-streaked video for “Bitch Better Have My Money” is already the frontrunner for NSFW Video of the Year, so how could she possibly make her revenge fantasy more extreme? Make it a heavy-metal rager.
A new Korn remix of the trap tune adds heaps of walloping nu-metal guitar riffage, making the song all the more threatening. As her voice pierces through the group’s crashing cymbals and crushing bass rumble with confidence and conviction, Rihanna emerges as a frightening metal howler that could give any headbanger, well, a run for his or her money. Now all the collaborating artists need to do is ante up the video.
Rihanna unleashed her “Bitch” clip, in which she attempts to extort cash from the titular female by any and all means necessary, in early July. The singer co-directed the video, which features scenes of her kidnapping a naked woman, hanging her upside down and drowning her – among other nefarious deeds – all leading up to a climactic shot of Rihanna nude and covered in blood in a trunk full of money.
The track is currently nominated, perhaps ironically given the video’s gore, for two Teen Choice Awards, including Choice Party Song; whether she wins or not will be announced on August 16th.
Korn, meanwhile, have been busy touring. Last year, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking self-titled debut album by performing it live around the world – including its disturbing closer “Daddy,” which they had not performed in as many years. They are confirmed to perform on this year’s Knotfest, the festival put together by Slipknot, which will take place in San Bernardino, California in October.
