John Legend released his highly anticipated new single “Love Me Now.” The track is the first single from his upcoming album Darkness and Light. The upbeat song advocates living in the moment of a relationship. “I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone/ So I’m gonna love you now like it’s all I have,” he sings in the chorus.
Legend promised fans during a recent Facebook Live session that Darkness and Light will be coming soon. “The music is really, really good,” he said. “I think it’s my best work yet.” The LP will feature guest appearances from the likes of Chance the Rapper, Brittany Howard, Miguel, Blake Mills and saxophonist Kamasi Washington.
Darkness and Light is Legend’s first album since 2013’s Love in the Future, which featured his smash single “All of Me.” In 2014, he won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for the song “Glory” that he wrote and recorded with Common for the film Selma. He appeared on albums released by Meghan Trainor and Kelly Clarkson in 2015.
