“Bout That” finds both MCs spinning street yarns over sparse percussion and a mix of menacing synth sounds and Jeezy’s guttural ad-libs. The Snowman delivers a gruff, vivid verse, boasting about how he could’ve quit on top after Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 and quipping at the end, “Yeah the crib like Disneyland/ Eight shots since I started, guess I’ve been a busy man.”
Lil Wayne, meanwhile, turns in another delightfully spastic verse, dancing around the beat before deftly slipping into a steady cadence to spit punchlines like “And I ball like Mike/ You on the side like Spike.”
“Bout That” marks Jeezy’s latest offering from Trap or Die 3, which arrives October 28th. The LP follows last year’s Church in These Streets and will feature appearances from Yo Gotti, Chris Brown, French Montana, Bankroll Fresh and Plies.
