LCD Soundsystem‘s former leader James Murphy has found the perfect David Bowie song to cover for Noah Baumbach’s upcoming film about the growing pains of becoming middle-aged. Murphy gives a minimalist, instrumental take on the Station to Station track “Golden Years.” Listen to it below.

Murphy’s cover, released via The Dissolve today, is the first song off the official soundtrack, which also features tracks by Lionel Richie, Haim, A Tribe Called Quest and Foreigner along with Bowie’s original version of “Golden Years.” On Tuesday, Murphy previewed another ambient instrumental titled, “We Used to Dance.”

Murphy also provided the score for Baumbach’s new film, which stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts as a middle-aged couple entranced by the free-spirited nature of a twentysomething couple played by Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried.

Former Beastie Boys member Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz co-stars as a friend of Stiller and Watts. “I’ve known Noah for 20 years and he’s just in our family circle,” Horovitz tells Rolling Stone. “We were having drinks and he was like, ‘You wanna be in a movie?’ I said, ‘Y’know, one of your movies. Do I have to audition?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m asking you if you want a part in one of my movies.’ ‘Of course.'”

Murphy last worked with Baumbach when he scored 2010’s Greenberg. Last year, the musician released Remixes Made with Tennis Data, a collaboration with IBM that found Murphy remixing the 2014 US Open matches.

While We’re Young‘s soundtrack will be available on March 24th via Milan Records, with the film arriving in theaters three days later.
