Gucci Mane tapped Bryson Tiller for a striking new track, “Drove U Crazy,” set to appear on the former’s forthcoming release, The Return of East Atlanta Santa.
“Drove U Crazy” premiered on Travis Scott’s new Beats 1 radio show, .wav, and opens with the Atlanta MC quick-spitting punchlines like, “She wanna ride the wave, but my waves too wavy/ And your car too slow need to drive Miss Daisy” over rigid trap percussion and a sickly piano loop. Tiller unspools an aloof R&B hook before tearing through his own boast-filled verse.
Gucci Mane will release The Return of East Atlanta Santa December 16th via Atlantic, capping off an impressive 2016 tear that began after his release from prison in May. The Return marks Gucci’s third solo project this year, following October’s Woptober and July’s Everybody’s Looking, while he also released collaborations with Zaytoven, the GucTiggy EP, and Future, Free Bricks 2: Zone 6 Edition.
Tiller has also been busy, spending much of 2016 promoting his debut album Trapsoul. Last month, the Louisville musician unveiled a new track, “Let Me Explain.”
Gucci Mane also released a new video for his Travis Scott collaboration “Last Time,” which features both MCs as well as filmmaker Harmony Korine. The clip for the Woptober cut finds the unlikely trio in a snow-covered landscape, passing a blunt back and forth while their car lifts into the air and catches fire.
