Hear Fat Joe, Remy Ma’s Breezy New Song ‘Heartbreak’ With The-Dream

Ahead of the February 17th release of Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s collaborative LP Plata o Plomo, and just in time for Valentine’s Day, the duo have dropped their new track “Heartbreak,” featuring The-Dream and Vindata.
Despite its downer of a song title, the track rides a breezy, feel-good vibe as the two veteran rappers trade versions over a dancehall beat before The-Dream delivers the hook, “Now I can’t prove my loving/ Heartbreak 10/ At least stay here in my arms/ Until the song’s done.”
“The song has a beautiful vibe.” Fat Joe told Billboard of “Heartbreak.” “I called Dream because he’s one of the greatest and I’ve always wanted to work with him.” “Heartbreak” follows Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s surprise 2016 hit and two-time Grammy-nominated “All the Way Up,” which lost both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance at Sunday night’s ceremony.
In July 2016, the 46-year-old Fat Joe marveled at the song’s unexpected success in a chat with Rolling Stone. “We’ve been able to accomplish some shit nobody’s been able to,” he said. “That’s why you haven’t been hearing your favorite rappers on the radio. It’s like some real diabolical shit – you take elements of that original hip-hop, but make it so that young kids today can feel like it’s the shit they’re vibing with.”
