Hear Drake, 2 Chainz Team Up on New Breezy Mixtape Song

Frustrated by “bootlegs” of his new mixtape Daniel Son; Necklace Don, 2 Chainz decided to leak the full release himself. “Since the bootleggers wanna fuck up my release time here ya’ll go,” the Atlanta rapper tweeted Friday, linking to a Soundcloud stream of the set. One highlight of the tape is “Big Amount,” which features a Drake guest spot and a breezy beat built on pan flutes and piano.
“Favorite spot was the Waffle House,” 2 Chainz raps. “Patty melt with the hashbrown/ Tryin’ to avoid all the pat-downs.” In his brief verse, Drake boasts, “Michael Jackson talkin’ to me in my dreams, and he say ‘You bad and you know it.'”
Producers across the 10-track mixtape include TM88, Mr 2-17, K Swisher, DJ Spinz, C4 and Dun Deal. 2 Chainz has stayed busy in 2016. In January, he released the Felt Like Cappin EP; two months later, he issued released his third studio album, ColleGrove. The LP features Lil Wayne on 11 of its 12 tracks – it was originally billed as a collaboration but was credited only to 2 Chainz. The rapper also promises that his next full-length is due out soon.
“I’m dropping another album this year,” he recently told Rolling Stone. “More in-depth, more feeling, more storytelling. Just some more emotion on this album. It is going to be more personal, it’s time for that. I got a things that are hard for me to communicate about, but music is very therapeutic for me. I have some things that I just really, really need to get off my chest, and by me not actually having a counselor — the booth is that for me.
“It’s time for me to unlock my heart, it’s time for to release all these emotions I’ve been through, from my days of 13, 14, 15, to now my thirties, it’s just time for me… to spread my wings and let them know this me, this is the reason why I am this way. That’s what it is.”
