In anticipation of their sophomore LP Caracal, due out September 25th, Disclosure have previewed new track, “Willing & Able.” The smooth, soulful song features British singer-songwriter Kwabs.
For the clip accompanying the deep house duo’s new tune, brown and yellow silhouettes of Kwabs sing and dance to the song. Like the past few cuts from the Caracal rollout, “Willing & Able” shows off the Lawrence brothers’ ability to craft dreamy R&B songs alongside more high-energy dance tracks.
Disclosure’s new album features a star-studded track list, with Lorde, Sam Smith, the Weeknd and Miguel lending their talents to the LP.
As part of the rollout, the group are releasing a four-part music video saga. The series of clips were kicked off with “Holding On” featuring Gregory Porter and “Omen” featuring the duo’s “Latch” partner, Sam Smith. The videos follow a tattooed Mexico City medium named Mariela as she escapes authorities who discover her psychic abilities.
The success of sleeper hit “Latch” helped launch Disclosure into stardom. Though it was released in 2012, the track did not reach its highest position on the charts until 2014. That same year, singer Smith added an acoustic version of the dance song to his Grammy Award-winning debut album In the Lonely Hour.
Disclosure recently spoke with Rolling Stone and revealed that Caracal is not an album full of club songs from the dance duo. “It’s all very club-influenced, because of the beats,” Guy Lawrence begins. “But every song is like ‘Latch’ or ‘White Noise’ — a fully structured pop song.”
