Hear Diplo Bring ‘Island Feel’ to Tiësto’s ‘Secrets’ in New Remix

Superstar DJ Tiësto‘s “Secrets,” a collaboration with KSHMR and Vassy, already hits hard, but a dose of Diplo helps push it over the edge. A remix of “Secrets” by the producer-DJ behind several tracks off Madonna’s Rebel Heart and the dancehall project Major Lazer turns the track into a heavy banger, and it is now available to stream below.
“I love what Diplo did with his remix,” Tiësto tells Rolling Stone. “The original is high energy from start to finish so Diplo stripped it down and added a real island feel to the song which is great for the summer.”
“Secrets” originally appeared on Tiësto’s surprise album Clublife: Volume Four New York City. Released in May via his own Musical Freedom label, the album was the latest installment of his Clublife series, which focuses on a different city and dance music hub. The mix albums have previously honored Las Vegas, Miami and Stockholm.
“This is a very special city for so many reason,” Tiësto said of New York. “It’s true that whatever you desire is at your fingertips — great culture, fashion, food and entertainment.” The mix features Firebeatz, Bobby Puma and the Dutch DJ’s 19-year-old mentee Martin Garrix.
Diplo’s remix of “Secrets” does not appear on the Clublife album, and there is no word on when it will be officially released and available for download.
Diplo has been everywhere recently; his two collaborative projects — Jack U and Major Lazer — released separate albums this year to critical acclaim, and he contributed some of the most energetic production to Madonna’s latest LP. Outside of music, Diplo has been promoting an animated TV series based off Major Lazer (with the same name as the dancehall project). Tiësto voiced a character on an episode of the show.
