Taylor Bennett is the spitting image of his only slightly older brother Chance the Rapper, and now Bennett is carving his own way in the music industry. Following up the exuberant video for single “Happy Place,” Bennett is debuting his first public collaboration with Chance. Below, listen to the exclusive premiere of the reflective “Broad Shoulders,” off his forthcoming album, Broad Shoulders.

Above a simple piano part, the brothers swap verses about family and growing up — a well-documented theme for the eldest of them — and showcase the family flow. Both are similarly skillful at wordplay, but Bennett raps a little faster, like his hero and fellow Chicagoan Twista.

“It’s different having a sibling in the entertainment business,” Bennett tells Rolling Stone. “My thing with my brother is that he always wanted me to work on myself and create my own name before we got to work together. He always knew that I was great enough to get a fanbase and sell out shows and get a lot of views. It’s a very meaningful song to our family and our next generation. Chance is now a father, and in the third verse, I speak about my niece — his daughter — so it’s a really emotional and compassionate song.”

Bennett considers his brother to be not only one of his favorites to work with but one of his favorite rappers of all time. Chance speaks just as highly of Bennett. “I’m so ready for Tay’s new project,” he tells RS of the lengthier Broad Shoulders. “It’s raw to watch him mature as an artist and a man. He put everything into this one.”

“Broad Shoulders” is technically the second song the Bennett brothers have recorded together, but the first song won’t be heard until Chance drops his third solo project. Bennett, however, is gearing up to release his own third project soon, with Broad Shoulders being his “first official album with no samples.” Working with producer Ludlow, Bennett’s album will feature a diverse roster of friends and new talent like Max Schneider, Donnie Trumpet (who collaborated with Chance on Surf), Joey Purp and King Louie. “It’s a very alive project,” Bennett says. “I’m glad it’ll be my first stepping point towards my career path.”
