Britney Spears has released the third single “Clumsy,” from her forthcoming album Glory. The synth-laden track is built around a phrase Spears has sung for over a decade (“oops!”) paired with a futuristic club beat.
In the song, Spears fumbles through the early throes of love. “Call me a fool/ Call me insane/ But don’t call it a thing,” she coos in her unmistakable nasal come-on tone. The song marks a rhythmic, almost swing-inspired turn for Spears, whose sound has evolved from melodic pop to EDM over the past five years.
