Hear Best Coast’s Bright Christmas Song for Amazon Special

Best Coast released a new, Beach Boys-esque holiday tune “Christmas and Everyday.” The track will feature in Amazon’s upcoming special An American Girl Story – Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas, available November 25th.
“I’m looking out of my window/ I see the sun, but I don’t see any snow,” Bethany Cosentino sings over chugging electric guitar and soft sleigh bells, her voice layered in multiple harmonies. “When will the day come that I do?/ When you’ve got your friends and your family, the whole world feels so bright and dandy/ Do you really need much more of anything?”
The film stars Alyvia Alyn Lind as Maryellen Larkin, the character from the popular American Girl franchise. Living in Daytona Beach, Florida, Maryellen is determined to help polio patients after a family friend with the disease stays with them while receiving treatment. “Christmas and Everyday” will be available for exclusive download and stream via Amazon Music – on both Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music – beginning November 25th.
This year, Best Coast teamed with Wavves for the “Summer Is Forever II” tour; they also opened select dates for the Go-Go’s’ month-long farewell trek, which wrapped in August. The Los Angeles indie-rock duo released their third LP, California Nights, in 2015.
