Hear Ariana Grande’s Moody Macy Gray Collaboration ‘Leave Me Lonely’
Ariana Grande enlists Macy Gray on her latest Dangerous Woman preview, the soulful, smoky ballad “Leave Me Lonely.” Grande’s third studio album will be out on Friday, May 20th.
Gray’s guest appearance is a surprising one, given that the three other collaborators on Dangerous Woman are big name rappers Future, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Grande’s more pure tone weaves in and out of Gray’s soulful rasp above a gospel-infused beat.
Grande has been debuting new Dangerous Woman tracks every day leading up to the album’s release. Her most recent teases of the LP were the flirtatious electro-pop track “Everyday” featuring Future and the reggae-infused “Side to Side” featuring Nicki Minaj.
Macy Gray released her eighth and most recent album, The Way, in 2014. Last year, she appeared on Galactic’s “Into the Deep” and released a political holiday song blasting Donald Trump and lax gun control titled “All I Want for Christmas.”
