In November 1976, Rod Stewart headed to Europe to tour in support of his new album A Night on the Town. “The band and I were only just getting to know each other,” he later told the Daily Mirror. “For about three weeks I was staying out all night. Then I got sick and was existing on port and brandy, afternoon tea and toast. When we opened at Olympia [In London] I felt so bad it was almost like somebody telling me I shouldn’t be there.”
