The Allman Brothers Band, Jackson Browne, Natalie Cole and more will pay tribute to 65-year-old rock icon Gregg Allman at a special concert next year. The event, dubbed “All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs and Voice of Gregg Allman,” will take place at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on January 10th, and it will be filmed and recorded for a future release. “Once-in-a-lifetime collaborations” are expected from the participants, who’ll also include Trace Adkins, Eric Church, Warren Haynes, John Hiatt, Sam Moore, Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Martina McBride, Robert Randolph, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Widespread Panic and many more. Producer Don Was will serve as the show’s musical director.

The show is promising surprise special guests, as well as additional performers who will be announced in coming weeks. Tickets will go on sale on November 1st.

The event follows a whirlwind couple of years for Allman. He accepted a Lifetime Achievement Grammy for his work with the Allman Brothers Band, the group he cofounded in 1969 alongside his late brother Duane, in 2012. That May, he revealed he’d gotten engaged to a 24-year-old named Shannon. He also released his memoir, My Cross to Bear, which Rolling Stone excerpted. Following some typically exciting shows at New York’s Beacon Theater this year, it was revealed that Allman has sold the film rights to My Cross to Bear to serve as the basis of a biopic by the filmmakers of the recent CBGB movie.

“We knew it was a great story but didn’t know how great it was until we read the book,” said one of the filmmakers. “That journey, and coming out the other side, is not the normal falling-into-hell story that rock & roll often is.”
