Gomez ‘Options’ on ‘Letterman’

British rockers perform new single from ‘Whatever’s on Your Mind’

British rockers Gomez turned up on Late Show with David Letterman to play "Options," a jaunty number from their latest album Whatever's on Your Mind. Backed up by a horn section from Letterman's house band, frontman Ian Ball strums his acoustic guitar with a perky, insistent rhythm while singing lyrics about trying to make sense of adulthood. It's an upbeat, optimistic tune, but it's tinged with enough regret and bad memories that its refrain "that's okay, at least I've got options" comes out sounding at least a little bit sarcastic.
