‘Glee’ Scores Five Golden Globe Nominations

The show won Best TV Series – Comedy at last season’s awards but lost the other three categories for which it was nominated, including the same three nods as this year for Lynch, Michele and Morrison.

In the music categories, the critically panned Burlesque scored two nods for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for Christina Aguilera’s “Bound to You” and Cher’s “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me.” Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Coming Home” from Country Strong, Mandy Moore’s “I See the Light” from Tangled and Carrie Underwood’s “There’s a Place for Us” from Chronicles of Narnia round out the category.

In Best Original Score for a Motion Picture, nominations went to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network, Danny Elfman for Alice in Wonderland, Hans Zimmer for Inception, A.R. Rahman for 127 Hours and Alexandre Desplot for The King’s Speech.
In the film category, The King’s Speech , a movie about British King George VI overcoming his speech impediment as he unexpectedly ascends to the crown, scored seven nominations. The Social Network , about the creation of Facebook; and the boxing drama The Fighter were close behind with six each. Black Swan, Inception and The Kids Are All Right each received four nominations.

Other notable nods include Johnny Depp getting two Best Actor nominations for his wildly disparate roles in Alice in Wonderland and The Tourist. Angelina Jolie also received a nomination for The Tourist; both Annette Bening and Julianne Moore got Best Actress nominations for The Kids Are Alright. Mark Wahlberg received a Best Actor nomination and Amy Adams, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo each received nods for their supporting roles in The Fighter.
