Lafayette, Louisanna’s Givers made their television debut last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon playing “Up Up Up,” a number from their debut album In Light. The band turned in a joyful, energetic performance that recalled the upbeat, African-influenced melodies and rhythms of Vampire Weekend and Paul Simon‘s Graceland while displaying a charming character all their own. The beats are bouncy and the bass is fluid and groovy, but their most striking feature is the unlikely chemistry and vocal interplay between the boyish tenor of Taylor Guarisco and the slightly raspy tone of Tiffany Lamson.
