Hot off winning two awards at the 55th Grammys, Frank Ocean is already hard at work on his followup to Channel Orange. Speaking with BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe yesterday, Ocean revealed he’s already “like 10, 11 songs” deep into the project. “It’s another cohesive thing, bordering on a concept record again,” said Ocean. “At the end of Channel Orange, there’s ‘Golden Girl,’ and it’s this beach scene. And I kind of want it to extend that feel into the next record all together, kind of make it that theme.”

Ocean said he plans to rent a place in Bora Bora to work on the new record after this trip to London. “I put a studio in my house but it’s all in road cases,” said Ocean. “I’m going to take it all to the beach . . . and work for a few weeks.” Ocean hinted at hopes for a few potential collaborators, sharing some kind words for King Krule and Tame Impala. As for producers, Ocean recently entered the studio with Pharrell, and said he has an upcoming studio session with Danger Mouse.

Channel Orange, Ocean’s debut label release, was nominated for an Album of the Year Grammy, and won Best Urban Contemporary Album.
