The Flaming Lips‘ long-awaited Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band all-star tribute With a Little Help From My Fwends will finally arrive on October 28th, and today Wayne Coyne shared the full details, cover artwork and pre-order information for the album over at their PledgeMusic page. Among the exclusive items available by pre-ordering With a Little Help… are limited edition autographed vinyl and CD copies, T-shirts, silkscreens by Fwends artist Oliver Hibert and a special “Making Of” documentary.

“The making of this record, some of us being in the studio, and some of us contemplating and considering and thinking and imagining the impact that the Beatles and their music and just the ideas of covering someone else’s music and discovering something yourself,” Coyne says in a trippy video teasing the “Making Of” doc. Miley Cyrus, My Morning Jacket, J. Mascis, Tegan & Sara, Moby, Maynard James Keenan, Dr. Dog and MGMT‘s Ben Goldwasser are just some of the “fwends” who assist Coyne and the Lips in creating this unique covers album.

“It’s really just a lot of great friends of mine who are all contributing,” Coyne told Rolling Stone about the project. “Sometimes it’s two groups doing a song; sometimes it’s one. And it’s not always the Flaming Lips and someone; sometimes it’s just other groups. But I think all that’s gonna be great.” Proceeds from With a Little Help From My Fwends will benefit Oklahoma City’s Bella Foundation, which helps low income or elderly pet owners pay for veterinary care.
