Dinosaur Jr.‘s 1993 album Where You Been celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. In its honor, a cast of musicians came together to cover the album under the collective name Felled Trees, calling the album Where We Been.
“Get Me,” performed by Garrett Klahn of Texas Is the Reason, is a personal favorite of the rocker, and he remembers the song’s influence on him as a teenager. “That song has been on a constant loop on my head since the day I first heard it in my best friend Joe Lucca’s bedroom when it was released in 1993,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I was 19 years old and just bridging the gap between punk and hardcore into more of the more melodic, dramatic stuff.”
For his version, Klahn says he channeled his teenage self, recording with the image of blasting his headphones and skating down the street.
Where We Been is out October 15th. The album is available for pre-order here.
