Just two months before the 15th anniversary of their debut album Parachutes, Coldplay have launched an interactive timeline on their official site that gives fans a behind-the-scenes peek at the band’s history from 1998 to present day.
Available on most devices, the Coldplay Timeline includes unseen footage, photos and interviews with the band, including a look at their “Yellow” video shoot, their Live 8 rehearsal and concert clips. It also features a “gigography” which charts the nearly 1,000 shows the band has played. Fans can upload their own photos from each show directly to the timeline.
The nostalgia trip also features an important step forward: A handwritten note from the band also confirms the title for their next album A Head Full of Dreams. Singer Chris Martin had revealed the same title as a tentative option in an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe last December.
A Head Full of Dreams will be Coldplay’s seventh studio album and follows 2014’s Ghost Stories. In his aforementioned radio interview with Lowe, Martin hinted at the possibility of Dreams being their last, referencing the completion of the Harry Potter series after seven books. “Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something,” the singer said. “I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
Martin has participated in a number of endeavors this year, including the February announcement that he will be curating and producing the annual Global Citizen Festival for the next 15 years. He also participated in the launch of the artist-backed music streaming service Tidal.
