This previously unreleased recording of Janis Joplin performing “Move Over” is featured on The Pearl Sessions, a new collection of outtakes, live recordings, mono single mixes and assorted rarities made at the time the singer recorded Pearl, her posthumously released masterpiece. This run through the album’s opening track is raw and loose – it may not be flawless, but it captures the natural soul of Joplin and her band. The Pearl Sessions will be in stores on April 17th, but you can stream “Move Over (Take 13)” here today.
