After releasing several singles over the past two years, Nashville-based PUJOL will release their debut full-length album, United States of Being, on June 5th. The group, which formed after Nashville’s MEEMAW broke up in 2009, aims to address the current state of American twenty-somethings through their catchy, guitar-driven music.
Daniel Pujol’s former MEEMAW bandmates inspired the track “Reverse Vampire,” which has been pressed as a limited edition 7-inch single for Record Store Day and is available to stream exclusively on RollingStone.com. “They changed my life, and I’ll thank them all day long,” Daniel Pujol says of MEEMAW’s Wez and Jez. “I wrote the song for them and we played it once at a reunion show. It’s about ‘you’ bleeding out and dying all the time instead of ‘you’ sucking blood and living forever.”
