Fans of Matisyahu no doubt know that the pioneering Jewish reggae superstar–who famously shaved his Hassidic beard in 2011–released his first-ever live acoustic EP, Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions, on Tuesday.
Matisyahu had the opportunity to capture some moments from his annual “Festival Of Light” in December–from which he culled the material for his live recordings–and we at Yahoo! Music are delighted to premiere one of these performances, “Searchin’,” for music fans to get a first look at.
“I’m able to take these words and strip away much of that ‘studio’ process, exposing each lyric—bare, with little more than a guitar and a microphone,” the singer noted. “It’s a different level of emotion that pours out in the acoustic setting.”
Matisyahu is currently about to embark on a cross-country tour starting this month. Here’s where you can see him live, and be sure to check in at his official site for updates.
