Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Mike Einziger of Incubus chatted with their fans on RollingStone.com Wednesday ahead of their co-headlining outing on the 2012 Honda Civic Tour. During the chat, Shinoda said that the band plans to hold off on playing most of their new material live until their tour hits the U.S. in August. Shinoda revealed the group will “maybe play one or two new songs” on their upcoming summer European tour later this month, but American fans can expect to hear plenty of new songs when the tour hits U.S. shores. “I imagine we’ll play a good chunk of new material,” Shinoda said.

Shinoda hinted that Linkin Park is currently shooting the video for “Burn It Down.” He also shot down rumors that lead singer Chester Bennington had surgery, taking the time at the end of the chat to repeatedly dispel the rumblings. “Chester has never had vocal surgery,” said Shinoda, before addressing Bennington’s minor shoulder operation last year.

When asked about the status of his hip-hop side project Fort Minor, Shinoda admitted, “Fort Minor is not dead,” though he did not divulge any details on possible new Fort Minor material.

Linkin Park kicks off their European tour on May 26th in Lisbon, Portugal. Their fifth studio album, Living Things, is set for a June 26th release.
