Exclusive! Idol Candice Glover’s Music Speaks at Yahoo

Season 12 “American Idol” champion Candice Glover is finally about to release her debut album, “Music Speaks,” on Feb. 18, just a new crop of “Idol” hopefuls go through the Hollywood Week ringer. Will any of those Season 13 contestants deliver as dynamite a performance as Candice’s cover of the Cure’s “Love Song,” a tour de force so memorable, it was included on “Music Speaks” due to fans’ popular demand? We shall see, but let’s just say the next “Idol” winner has a lot to live up to.

Candice recently swung by Yahoo Studios to perform “Love Song,” along with two new originals: the emotional breakup ballad “Cried” and the breezy, uptempo “In the Middle.” And even alone, with just a microphone and none of the bells and whistles of Ray Chew’s old house band, she blew us all away with the force of her voice.
