Turntablist Cut Chemist recorded “Outro (Revisited)” as an ode to his tough times after being released from jail. “I had a strong urge to run so I made a song that made me feel like I was being chased,” he says. The song runs, all right – and at a rapid pace. Mars Volta’s Deantoni Parks and Weapon of Choice’s Lonnie Marshall infuse it with a rocking backbone, and L.A.-based rapper Blackbird also appears.
“Outro (Revisited)” is the first single from the new album Die Cut (A Stable Sound), which drops today. “I haven’t put a band of artists on one record like this since Jurassic 5,” Cut Chemist says. “It feels good to work with different people with different musical backgrounds to explore new musical boundaries.”
