Evanescence End Three-Year Hiatus With November Tour

Evanescence will end their three-year hiatus this November when they embark on a brief tour. Amy Lee and company have scheduled just three concerts at intimate venues so far: A November 13th gig at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works, a November 15th show at Dallas’ South Side Ballroom and a November 17th performance at Los Angeles’ Wiltern. It will be the band’s first concerts since October 2012; Evanescence last released their self-titled LP in 2011.

Last year, after Evanescence and their master recordings were transferred from Wind-up Records to Concord Bicycle Music, Lee told Rolling Stone that a disagreement over unpaid royalties threatened the future of the group. “The situation is we’re not doing it now. I don’t like to make predictions about the future, because I’m honestly open-minded, and I would never want to say I’m done with any of it, because it’s a huge part of me,” Lee said in August 2014. “I’ve loved my time with Evanescence — I wouldn’t want to just throw it away — but, for the foreseeable future, I don’t have any plans to do anything with the band.”

However, soon after Lee released her solo album Aftermath, Evanescence parted ways with Concord Bicycle Music to become independent artists again, reopening the door for the band to end their long hiatus. In April, it was revealed that Evanescence would stage their first concert in three years at Tokyo’s Ozzfest on November 21st; the three U.S. dates will precede that festival appearance.
