Hear Escort’s Adeline Preview Solo Debut LP With Simmering Song ‘Before’

Adeline, lead singer for disco revivalists Escort, unveiled a funky new solo cut, “Before.” The track will appear on her forthcoming debut album [ad•uh•leen] and arrives November 9th.
“Before” is a scintillating dancefloor slow burner, its simmering groove repeatedly building to an ever-more euphoric pitch. Adeline guides the track with a nimble vocal performance that fittingly culminates with a final chorus packed with stunning diva belts that soar over punchy backing harmonies.
The singer kicked off her solo career in July with the release of “Emeralds,” which she co-produced with Morgan Wiley of Hercules & Love Affair. In August, she shared another single, “Swirl,” while she recently performed more material from her album at Afropunk in New York City.
Prior to her solo debut, Adeline released two albums with Escort. The group’s self-titled debut arrived in 2012, while their second LP, Animal Nature, was released in 2015.
