Empire of the Sun and Steve Aoki Add Massive Drops to ‘Celebrate’

Australian dream-electro duo Empire of the Sun are no strangers to collaboration. Over the years, frontman Luke Steele has written for Jay Z, Beyonce, and Usher, as well as remixed major pop stars like Lady Gaga and Yoko Ono. Now, Empire of the Sun have teamed up a handful of artists for two volumes of “Celebrate” remixes, a standout track from 2013’s Ice on the Dune.

On the first volume, the Daft Punk-nodding song takes on a new life under the hands of Tommy Trash and Steve Aoki. Trash turns the song’s pace on its head, starting out at a racing speed and winding down from there, while Aoki adds a massive drop to the track. The second volume features dance producers Hook N Sling, Styalz Fuego and Sydney electronic band the Dissociatives.
Empire of the Sun are currently on tour abroad and will play a string of shows in the U.S. following their set at Ultra Music Festival on March 29th. Volume one of “Celebrate” is out February 18th, with volume two arriving on February 25th. Stream it below.
