If you thought one $10 million lawsuit was tough, try two. Less than a week after Eminem’s mother filed a $1 million suit against him (which was in response to him allegedly slandering her over her previous $10 million suit), his estranged wife Kim Mathers filed suit in the Macomb County (Mich.) Circuit Court seeking $10 million from the rapper.
Kim Mathers filed her suit on Aug. 21, just five days after Eminem filed for divorce, also in Macomb Circuit Court. But while the rapper sought joint custody of their daughter, Hallie Jade Scott, the Detroit Free Press reports that Kim is seeking full and permanent custody of the four-year-old girl. The Press also reports that her suit stems from the lyrics of the song “Kim” which portrays Kim Mathers’ murder, as well as Eminem’s onstage antics which frequently feature an inflatable doll dubbed “Kim.” Referring to the rapper’s antics on the Up in Smoke Tour, Kim Mathers’ attorney, Neil Rockind, wrote that Eminem “has included violent and vile acts directed toward an effigy of the wife.”
Calls to Eminem’s reps were unanswered at press time. Eminem will appear in the Thirty-seventh District Court in Warren, Mich. on Aug. 31 to answer to assault and weapons charges that originated from a nightclub scuffle on June 4.
