See Elle King’s Stirring Live Performance of “Good Thing Gone” in London
Elle King released the second visual from her sophomore album, Shake the Spirit, out October 19th on RCA Records. “Good Thing Gone” follows the video for lead single, “Shame.”
Performed live in historic London venue The Scotch, the Sixties soul-laden “Good Thing Gone” is a slow dive into King’s heartache, spurred on by a love rapidly going south. Though her eyes cast down, King powers through, her voice levitant amid the steady energy of her band, The Brethren. “Look at this good love we’ve wasted,” King sings throatily, “Another good thing gone.”
“I have my year and a half summed up in one crazy-ass, goddamn album,” says King of Shake the Spirit. “And I’m proud of that. I’m ready to bare my spirit and soul and heart and hardships to the world and say, ‘You know what? I got through it. And this is how I did it.'”
With a brief return to London, King is scheduled to tour North America later this fall.
