Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Get Physical in ‘Man on Fire’

Jump-ropers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and more move to the rhythm

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros may not invoke dance at first thought, but the whimsical folk band gets a helping hand from body movers and shakers in their video for “Man on Fire.” Using choreography from jump ropers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and even the New York City Ballet, the band combines their ramblin’ countryside sound with urban images of movement and self-expression. But the group doesn’t forget their heartfelt roots, inserting shots of the parents and coaches who support the performers.

“Man on Fire” is on Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ latest album, Here.
