Eagles of Death Metal Reschedule European Tour, Paris Show

Eagles of Death Metal have rescheduled their European tour, dubbed the Nos Amis Tour, following the tragic ISIS attack during their November Paris show. The band will now perform February 16th at the city’s Olympia venue, as the Bataclan will not be open by that date. Ticket holders from the previous Bataclan concert can attend the Olympia show for free, Pitchfork reports.
“The people of Paris have always been incredible to us, and our feeling of love towards this beautiful city and its people has been reinforced a million times over this past month,” singer Jesse Hughes said in a statement. “Hearing the stories of the survivors, the injured and those who have lost loved ones has been overwhelming. Not returning to finish our set was never an option. We look forward to coming back in February and continuing our mission to bring rock & roll to the world.”
The 23-date trek will begin February 13th in Stockholm, Sweden and run though early March, followed by a string of August dates, including the Reading and Leeds Festivals (August 26th to 28th).
Eagles of Death Metal returned to Bataclan last week, adding flowers to a makeshift memorial site and reading tributes. (Eighty-nine people were killed during the deadly terrorist attack, including the band’s merch manager, Nick Alexander.) In a poignant Facebook note, the band addressed their return to the city, which was initiated by an invitation to accompany U2 onstage during their show at the AccorHotels Arena.
“The bad guys never take a day off, and therefore we rock & rollers cannot either … and we never will,” the band wrote. “We are incredibly grateful to U2 for providing us the opportunity to return to Paris so quickly, and to share in the healing power of rock ‘n roll with so many of the beautiful people — nos amis — of this great city.”
