Dylan LP ‘John Wesley Harding’ To Sell A Million Copies
Columbia execs call it one of the "fastest breaking" records in their memory

Bob Dylan’s first recording in 17 months is certain to be certified a million-selling record within the month. In less than a week after its release to the retail stores, John Wesley Harding has sold more than 250,000 copies. Columbia Records executives say it is one of the “fastest breaking” records in their memory.
Dylan’s current popularity is slightly amazing to the record industry — he had not performed publicly for 16 months or put any new material before the public during that time.
This is a story from the February 24, 1968 issue of Rolling Stone.
