While nearly every rapper on the planet was taking the stage at yesterday’s Summer Jam in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Drake was dropping a real summer jam dubbed “0 to 100/The Catch Up” on his October’s Very Own website. The first half of the track, produced by Drake’s in-house hit-making producers Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib along with Nineteen85 and Noel “Detail” Fisher, has a Wu vibe as Drake raps “If I’m not the greatest, then I’m headed for it” and bragging about having a better jump shot than Stephen Curry. Check out the track below:

The “0 to 100” chorus bounces along to a similar cadence as Drake’s Nothing Was the Same hit “Started From the Bottom.” Thematically there is a likeness as well, as instead of starting at the bottom to get to here, Drake is now starting at zero to get to one hundred in order to gain ground on those fondue plate-eating rappers.

“The Catch Up” is where the track hits 100 while simultaneously slowing down: Floating atop woozy synths straight outta “Marvin’s Room” and featuring a well-timed James Blake sample, Drake states that if any rappers in the game are ahead of him, he’s soon going to catch up and surpass him. Drizzy also uses the track to tentatively plot out October’s Very Own release schedule for Spring 2015: New albums from Majid Jorden, PARTYNEXTDOOR, OB O’Brien, and Drake himself.

“0 to 100/The Catch Up” comes on the heels of a pair of Drizzy standalone tracks, the Manziel (and Jennifer Lawrence) ode “Draft Day” and “Days in the East.”
